How much is a check-engine light diagnosis in Gilroy?
A check-engine diagnosis at Uvas Auto Works is $149 for the first hour, followed by a written estimate for the repair. If you approve the repair within 30 days, the $149 is credited toward it.
Do I need an appointment?
An appointment is best, and most maintenance is finished the same day. For a noise, a warning light or a car that will not start, call and we will fit it in. Keys can go in the drop box beside the office door before 7:30 AM or after 5:30 PM.
Will servicing my car here keep the factory warranty?
Yes. Federal law lets you have scheduled maintenance done at an independent shop without voiding the factory warranty, as long as the work follows the maker's schedule and you keep the records. Every invoice lists the parts, the fluids and the mileage.
What warranty do repairs carry?
Parts and labor on repairs are covered for 24 months or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first. Parts a customer supplies are not covered.
Can I have my old parts back?
Yes. Ask when you drop off the car, or tick the box on the repair order, and the replaced parts go back to you. Parts returned to the supplier under a warranty or core exchange are shown to you before they go.
Do you work on hybrids and diesel pickups?
Yes. We service hybrids, including a battery health test, and gas and diesel light-duty pickups. High-voltage battery replacement on fully electric cars goes to a specialist, and we will tell you which one.
